Painters’ palettes were inspired by the “finger prints” that artists leave behind as they work. They are an abstract interpretation/transformation of the artists’ brush strokes, tonal range and medium, discovered in looking closely at their palettes; on occasion I have also used their smocks and even their drop cloths. My aim is not only to capture something of the artist’s nature but to make his “leftovers” my own “meal”. The menu would appear to be infinite; the observer, it seems, can find art where and when he permits himself to do so.
